Production home builders all across America put up homes that are poorly designed. Yep, we said it and we will stand behind that statement until it changes. Don’t get us wrong, they provide necessary housing for millions of people but they are in the game of production not function or aesthetics.
This model in particular had an awkward fireplace layout with an entertainment nook to the right of it. The new design centered the fireplace with two symmetrical display/storage areas on either side. The mantel is a solid 3/8” steel “L” shape that we recessed into the wall assembly making it appear floating. Cabinets were custom built to fit the openings with mesh fronts to allow for remote controlled gear to function properly when stored within the cabinets themselves. We topped this project off with custom glass shelves back lit with LED strip lighting to make for an amazing accent feature especially during the twilight hours.
